Privacy policy

What we collect

If you sign up for updates or the book waitlist, we store:

  • your email address
  • your name, if you give it (optional)
  • which list you joined (book or general updates)
  • the date and time you signed up
  • your approximate country, worked out from your connection
  • a one-way hashed version of your IP address, used only to stop spam and limit repeated sign-ups. We don't store your actual IP address.

This is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database that only we can access.

How we use it

Only to email you about the book and channel news and big updates. We will never sell, rent or trade your details.

Unsubscribe or delete your data

Every email we send will include a way to unsubscribe. You can also email hello@duovagari.com at any time to unsubscribe, see what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted.

Cookies and tracking

We don't use advertising trackers, analytics scripts or cookies of our own.

Third parties

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and stores sign-ups. Like any web host, it handles your connection details to serve the pages.
  • Map: the voyage map uses Leaflet (loaded from unpkg.com) and map tiles from CARTO, built on OpenStreetMap data.
  • YouTube: video thumbnails load from YouTube (i.ytimg.com), and links or embedded videos are subject to YouTube's own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts: our fonts load from Google Fonts.

When your browser loads content from these services they receive your IP address, as part of normal web requests.

Your rights

We aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you're in the UK or EU, you also have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion and objecting to processing. Email us and we'll help. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above.
